An old wifie stares, then snores, opposite me, face like a stone –
Don’t I know her? - all the way to Interlaken in the Ruhezone.
I’m disorientated - first it’s a Bort, next the last departure from First, then Jungfraujoch.
I can see nearly all the way home: Alpinglen, Egg, Locherboden, Appin, Beinn eadar dà Loch.

Rody Gorman is a poet, translator, lyricist and lecturer in English, Irish and Gaelic; visiting from the Isle of Skye, Scotland. He is staying at PROGR on a collaborative writing residency from March until June '09.

Rody Gorman was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1960 and now lives in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. He has worked as writing fellow in Scotland, Ireland, Macedonia and Canada. His work has been translated into Arabic, Dutch, Estonian, Galician, German, Hebrew, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Portugese, Slovene and Swedish.
Whilst at PROGR he wishes to extend language contact and collaborate with other artists, write poems and engage in translation (and drink beer..).
